PRIVACY & PILOT INFORMATION

Help should feel good.

Backpack Bites is being prepared as a community food coordination pilot. The website shows current needs once coordinators open the list. We do not publish donor names, family names or individual contribution activity.

Your contribution stays private.

Pilot accounts hold a chosen display name, contributions, receiving records and reminder preferences. Authorized coordinators can see these records to arrange donations and receiving. This pilot does not collect payment details or children’s names.

Reminders are your choice.

The phone app asks for location permission only when you choose store-arrival reminders. Selected store regions are monitored on your phone. An arrival check sends a store identifier to the service, not a stream of your coordinates. The current limit is one shopping suggestion in seven days, with quiet hours and a pause control.

Access and hosting

Coordinator web access uses Sign in with ChatGPT. Pilot phones use short-lived, one-use connection codes followed by expiring device sessions. The website and database are hosted through OpenAI Sites on Cloudflare infrastructure. Access providers may process technical request information.

Before wider participation

The operating team is still confirming drop-off instructions, support contacts and the record-retention process. Participation is limited to the invited pilot until those arrangements are reviewed. Contact your inviting coordinator for help with access or your records.
